Debunking McCain's speech

There is nothing to debunk from McCain's speech last night because it was utterly pointless and without substance. In his monotone voice and deer-in-the-headlights gaze at the teleprompter, we heard McCain talk about being a POW (the newest litmus test for being President) and use militaristic terms to describe just about everything (I think he used the word "fight" about 75 times last night).

I was struck by the hilarity of his use of 'change', stolen of course straight from the Obama campaign which has used it as their central theme for 18 months. Yes, you represent change alright John McCain. You voted with Bush 90% of the time and sat in the Senate for 26 years. You rip-roarin' bona fide change agent you!

Watch this cip of McCain proudly exclaiming that he's voted with Bush 90% of the time (he also says Bush has done a great job leading the country -- I can hardly hold back the laughter).

Fabulous irony.
