Backtrack of the week: McCain advocates volunteering in communities
Days after Sarah Palin denigrated community service in her speech, not once but twice, and Rudy Giuliani openly laughed at it in his speech, McCain is backtracking to cover up the nasty mess left in their wake. On Face the Nation this morning, McCain said people should "volunteer in communities to solve problems", or in other words -- be a community organizer.
Here's how Obama described the value of his community organizing experience the day after Palin's speech:
So I say to community organizers everywhere: Organize as many people as you can to vote for Obama. It seems the only people McCain-Palin are interested in serving are the wealthy.
