Alert the Media: Palin speaks off script

While dining at a restaurant in Cleveland today, Sarah Palin took her first impromptu question from the press in between sips of coffee. The press pool, who travels with the campaign every day, hasn't been allowed close enough to ask Palin a question since she hit the trail with McCain. When asked for her reaction to the federal bailout of insurance giant AIG. Palin said she is

"Disappointed that taxpayers are called upon to bailout another one. "Certainly AIG, though, with the construction bonds that they're holding, and with the insurance that they are holding, very, very impactful to Americans. So you know, the shot that has been called by the feds, its understandable but very, very disappointing that taxpayers are called upon for another one."

Brilliant Sarah. Well said, very impactful, very disappointing, very lame. McCain's advisers must not have had time yet to feed her lines about the AIG bailout.

No wonder they're keeping the press far away.
