Palin says she represents Joe Six-Pack

Yesterday, Sarah Palin proved she can't save face on TV or the radio. She called in for a short interview on the syndicated Hugh Hewitt radio show. Hewitt is a conservative, evangelical commentator, so she was obviously in friendly territory. Palin's lack of finesse is startling, here is some of their exchange:

Hewitt: "Governor, your candidacy has ignited extreme hostility, even some hatred on the left and in some parts of the media. Are you surprised? And what do you attribute this reaction to?"

Palin: "Oh, I think they're just not used to someone coming in from the outside saying you know what? It's time that normal Joe six-pack American is finally represented in the position of vice presidency, and I think that that's kind of taken some people off guard, and they're out of sorts, and they're ticked off about it."

Palin's response makes her sound like the Great White North's version of a Valley Girl - only she's a 44 year-old woman running for the nation's second highest office. It's embarrassing and ridiculous.
